Рыба очень любима аквариумистами за невероятную голубую окраску и красивый внешний вид
Кормление: В природе питаются водорослями и зоопланктоном. В аквариуме рацион должен состоять из растительных и животных кормов. Голубому хирургу недостаточно только растительной пищи: водоросли, листья салата, шпинат, сухие корма для растительноядных. Обязательно нужно предлагать корма животного происхождения: живые и замороженные (артемию, измельченное мясо кальмаров, мидий, креветок).
Не проявляет агрессию по отношению к другим видам рыб. Как и у всех хирургов, перед хвостом есть острый костяной нарост, способный сильно поранить противника.
Легкий в содержании вид, при стрессе часто заболевают криптом, но погибают из-за него очень редко.
